*Basil Joseph Entertainments lead by actor and filmmaker Basil Joseph joins with Doctor Ananthu Entertainments lead by Dr. Ananthu S for the Mass Entertainer *Athiradi*. Starring Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas, and Vineeth Sreenivasan in lead roles, the film is being made as a complete entertainer package. The movie is directed by debutant Arun Anirudhan, who was one of the screenwriters of *Minnal Murali*, directed by Basil Joseph.
The shooting of Athiradi will begin by the end of October. The script is co-written by Paulson Skaria and Arun Anirudhan. The film’s co-producers are Sameer Thahir and Tovino Thomas. After Minnal Murali, Athiradi marks the reunion of Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Sameer Thahir, and Arun Anirudhan.
The title teaser opens with Vineeth Sreenivasan’s character introduction, followed by Basil Joseph and Tovino Thomas in full-on mass getups. The teaser hints that Athiradi will be a mass action entertainer set to shake the theatres. The punchline, of the teaser, gives the impression that the team is gearing up to deliver a power-packed theatrical experience. The teaser also indicates that the trio will portray distinctly different characters, both in appearance and personality.
The teaser is crafted in the style reminiscent of grand South Indian film title announcements. Alongside Malayalam, the teaser has also been released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
Earlier, a casting call with the tagline “Looking for mass boys who can deliver a solid punch!” was shared on social media. A few weeks ago, while launching his production company’s logo, Basil Joseph had officially announced Athiradi and shared initial details. Athiradi ramps up the excitement as it is the first film to bring together Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas, and Vineeth Sreenivasan on screen.
