செப்டம்பர் 22-ஆம் தேதி பெங்களூருவில் நடைபெற்ற இந்நிகழ்வில் ஊடகத்தினரும் கர்நாடக அஞ்சல் வட்டார பிரதிநிதிகளும் பங்கேற்றனர். காந்தாரா படத்தின் எழுத்தாளர், இயக்குநர் மற்றும் நடிகர் ரிஷப் ஷெட்டி, கர்நாடக அஞ்சல் வட்டாரத்தின் இயக்குநர் (முகாம்) ஸ்ரீ சந்தேஷ் மகாதேவப்பா, பெங்களூரு GPO முதன்மை அஞ்சல் மாஸ்டர் ஸ்ரீ H.M. மஞ்சேஷா, ஹொம்பாலே பிலிம்ஸ் தயாரிப்பாளர் விஜய் கிராகந்தூர் ஆகியோர் இணைந்து இந்த சிறப்பு தபால் அட்டைகளை வெளியிட்டனர்.

பூதகோலா காட்சியுடன் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட கேன்சலேஷன் ஸ்டாம்ப், சேகரிப்பதற்குரிய அரிய வெளியீடாகவும், கர்நாடகாவின் வாழும் மரபுகளை பிரதிபலிக்கும் பெருமையான நினைவுச் சின்னமாகவும் அமைந்துள்ளது.

India Post and Hombale Films Honour the Legacy of Kantara with Special Cover, Picture Postcards & Cancellation Stamp

Bengaluru, 23rd September 2025 – India Post, Karnataka Postal Circle, in association with Hombale Films, proudly released a Special Cover, a set of two Picture Postcards, and a Cancellation Stamp celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of Karnataka. The release highlights the sacred Bootha Kola ritual, as powerfully depicted in the National Award-winning film Kantara.

The event, held in Bengaluru on 22nd September, was graced by members of the media and representatives of the Karnataka Circle. The unveiling was done by Kantara’s writer, director and actor Rishab Shetty, Sri Sandesh Mahadevappa, Director Postal Services (HQ), Karnataka Postal Circle,Sri H M Manjesha, Chief Postmaster, Bengaluru GPO and Producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films.

The specially designed Cancellation Stamp, featuring the image of Bootha Kola, added another layer of honour to the release, making it a true collector’s edition that reflects Karnataka’s living traditions.

Speaking on the occasion, Rishab Shetty shared, “Kantara was created as a celebration of our roots and rituals. To see India Post immortalize this journey through a Special Cover and postcards is truly an honour. It is a recognition not just for the film, but for the culture and the people who inspired it.”

As a special gesture, Rishab Shetty also autographed one of the Picture Postcards with the words ‘Kayakave Kailasa’ – a timeless philosophy that echoes through Kantara’s narrative, symbolising the sanctity of labour and devotion.
Producer Vijay Kiragandur said, “This recognition from India Post is a great honour, not only for the film but also for Karnataka’s rich cultural traditions. It is a proud moment for all of us at Hombale Films. Such initiatives help preserve our heritage and pass it on to future generations. We are humbled that Kantara has become a medium to showcase our roots on such a prestigious platform.”

Richard Rishi starrer “Draupathi 2” shooting wrapped up!|

As the nation celebrates Navaratri, fans of historical cinema have reason to rejoice: the makers of much-anticipated Draupathi 2, the title based on the religiously celebrated and worshipped entity, have a good news to share. The team that kick-started the shooting in Mumbai has successfully wrapped up the entire filming with Ariyallur schedule. The film is directed by critically-acclaimed filmmaker Mohan G, featuring Richard Rishi in the lead role. Right from the film’s announcement and dashing the first look poster that gave a promising impression about this film being created as a visually grand and emotionally compelling historical drama, the expectations sky-rocketed among the cinephiles and industry.

Sharing the good news on completing the shoot, Director Mohan G states, “No matter how meticulously a director plans, the execution ultimately depends on the strong support of the producer, particularly for logistical challenges. Although this marks the maiden production of Chola Shakkaravarthi sir, his insatiable passion for cinema and prior experience of watching more films, and understanding the art and the creation process, ensured that we upheld the highest standards of quality and creative freedom throughout.”

Producer Chola Shakkaravarthi says, ”As an entrepreneur entering the film industry, I was conscious of its unpredictable nature of showbiz. However, working alongside Mohan G and his meticulously structured approach impressed me greatly. The shooting was completed ahead of schedule, and he has been a producer’s delight in clearing off my doubts of cloudiness and dilemma, by assuring that cinema industry is a good place to stay back and explore the dreams. My humble thanks to actor Richard Rishi and the whole team for being an immense support. Their unconditional support has reinvigorated my enthusiasm and strengthened my resolve to produce more films of this calibre.”

Draupathi 2, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual historical action drama, is being produced by Chola Shakkaravarthi of Netaji Productions in association with G.M Film Corporation.

While Rakshana Indusudan plays the female lead, Natti Natraj plays a significant role. The film also features Y. G. Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vel Ramamoorthy, Siraj Johnny, Dinesh Lamba, Ganesh Gaurang, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and Arunodayan.

The dialogues for the film are jointly written by writer Padma Chandrasekhar and Mohan G. Music is composed by Ghibran Vaibodha. Cinematography is handled by Philip R. Sundar, choreography by Thanika Tony, stunt coordination by Action Santosh, editing by Devaraj, and art direction by Kamalnathan.

The project’s completion marks a significant milestone, heralding a film that promises to transport audiences to the grandeur of 14th-century South India with compelling storytelling, striking visuals, and a stellar ensemble cast. With the postproduction work briskly progressing, the makers will be soon releasing the promotional posters that could head the film towards the December release.

His next chapter introduces a new hero – Kalyan Dasari, making his grand debut as the lead in Adhira, alongside prominent actor S. J. Suryah. RKD Studios, being led by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal, is bankrolling this grand-scale prestigious project, marking a significant production venture for the company. This crazy project is being directed by Sharan Koppisetty.

Rooted in the essence of Indian itihasas yet packaged with modern cinematic flair, Adhira is set to carry forward the ambitious vision of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Malayalam star Unni Mukundan is set to portray Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming biopic Maa Vande, a multilingual film that aims to explore the lesser-known, emotional chapters of the Indian leader’s life. The film was officially announced on September 17, coinciding with PM Modi’s 75th birthday.

Produced by Silver Cast Creations and directed by Kranthi Kumar C. H., Maa Vande promises to go beyond politics, highlighting the deeply personal aspects of Modi’s journey—from his humble beginnings in Gujarat to his rise as one of the most influential figures in contemporary India.

“I am humbled to share that I will be portraying the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi Ji, in Maa Vande,” Mukundan said in an official statement. “Having grown up in Ahmedabad, I first knew him as the Chief Minister during my childhood. Years later, in April 2023, I had the privilege of meeting him in person—a moment that left an indelible mark on me.”

The actor, known for his intense performances in Malayalam cinema, described the role as “overwhelming and inspiring.” Mukundan also revealed that two words spoken by Modi—“Jhookvanu Nahi” (Never bow down)—have stayed with him and now serve as a guiding principle in both his personal life and professional approach to the role.

The film’s title, Maa Vande (translated as Mother, I Salute Thee), reflects its emotional anchor: the relationship between Modi and his late mother, Heeraben Modi. Director Kranthi Kumar noted that this bond is central to the narrative, offering a lens through which viewers can better understand Modi’s formative years and character.

“This isn’t a political drama or propaganda,” the director said. “At its heart, this is a story about a son and his mother. It’s about how love, discipline, and values shape the journey of a man who would go on to lead a nation.”

Backed by a high-profile technical team, Maa Vande brings together some of Indian cinema’s finest talent. The cinematography will be handled by K. K. Senthil Kumar (Baahubali), editing by A. Sreekar Prasad, and production design by Sabu Cyril. Music will be composed by Ravi Basrur, best known for his work in the KGF franchise, with action sequences choreographed by King Solomon.

The film is slated for a pan-Indian release in multiple languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and English. Production is expected to begin soon, with a theatrical release planned for late 2026.

Unni Mukundan, who has steadily expanded his fan base across South India and beyond, said the role represents not just an acting challenge, but a personal calling.
