She has participated in nearly five dance reality shows across Kannada, Hindi, and Telugu, and is now stepping into Tamil cinema through ‘NOVA’.Actress Adhvithi Shetty said: “I play the role of ‘Vallabhi’, an army officer in this film. Among all the characters I have portrayed so far in my acting journey, NOVA proves to be something unique for it has offered me a different and challenging role, which I haven’t done before. The character carries immense importance, offers strong scope for performance, and involves a lot of dialogues. Since this is a science fiction film with plenty of suspense elements, it turned out to be a major challenge for me.I can understand Tamil and I enjoy watching Tamil films. However, since I did not have Tamil speaking friends, I never really got the opportunity to speak the language fluently. During the shoot, I learnt the dialogues very quickly, and the team appreciated my lip sync and performance. In one emotional scene, I performed without using glycerine, and the entire team applauded me for it. In general, I never use glycerine for crying scenes.”“During the shoot, my grandmother passed away. I was extremely close to her. I received the news from home while I was on the sets. At the same time, I had an important scene to complete, so I finished shooting first and then travelled to Mangaluru. Since there was no proper transport facility from Munnar, I had to travel through Kochi and Bengaluru. Unfortunately, I could not even see my grandmother one last time. The very next day, I returned to the shoot. Emotionally, it was one of the most difficult phases for me. However, my family encouraged me, saying, ‘Your team needs you, go back and complete your work,’ which motivated me to return.”“Most of the shooting took place in deep forest areas and hilly terrains, where our caravans had to be parked far away. Even going to the restroom meant walking long distances. Since I was portraying an army officer, I had to wear heavy military boots, and walking in them itself was extremely difficult. It was during this experience that I developed an even deeper respect for the sacrifices made by our soldiers who protect the nation.”“My introduction scene in the film itself was a rain sequence. It was shot at midnight in the freezing cold weather of Munnar, where tanker water was poured on us for filming. We shot continuously for 24 hours, and it was an extremely challenging experience.”“Director Milo’s ambitious drive and his visualisation proficiency is very different. His intention is to offer audiences a refreshing science fiction film experience, and I strongly believe ‘NOVA’ will stand as a wonderful attempt in that direction.”“Everyone on the sets was extremely supportive. They helped me with Tamil pronunciation and dialogues. Since I was away from my family, the entire film crew gradually became like a family to me. After the release of ‘NOVA’, I would love to act in many more Tamil films.”
