ASSI Trailer showcased in Chennai; Taapsee Pannu Headlines a Hard-Hitting Investigative Courtroom Drama

The trailer of ASSI was showcased today in Chennai in the presence of actors Revathy and Kani Kusruti, two pivotal members of the film’s powerful ensemble cast. Inspired by harrowing real-life incidents that make headlines every day, ASSI confronts uncomfortable truths that society often chooses to ignore. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, the investigative courtroom drama is set for a worldwide theatrical release on 20th February 2026.
After generating intrigue with its striking motion poster, the makers T-Series and Benaras Media Works have exclusively released the trailer in theatres and are soon planning on for a digital launch. Headlined by Taapsee Pannu, ASSI promises an intense, fast-paced narrative that goes beyond the courtroom, questioning morality, accountability, and collective responsibility.
The film features a stellar ensemble cast including Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, with special appearances by Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, and Seema Pahwa, adding further depth and gravitas to the narrative.

Taapsee is a natural for a story like this; you take her there and she delivers. With Bhushan Kumar backing ASSI, we knew we were striking the nail in the right corner.”
Actors Kani Kusruti and Revathi, while interacting with the media, spoke about how the film draws from real-life incidents backed by detailed research involving several victims.
