Vanakkam,
In recent discussions with journalist friends and media family, the topic of my interest in politics has garnered significant attention. Many have enquired, “Are you eyeing a parliamentary seat? A Rajya Sabha nomination, perhaps? What about a ministerial role? Will Satyaraj sir endorse your campaign?” These questions, though abundant, fail to capture the essence of my intent. I wish to clarify my stance : my entry into politics is not fueled by aspirations for power or electoral triumphs. Instead, I firmly believe in politics as a medium for serving the people. Over the past few years, I’ve been working at the grassroot level to empower lives in rural areas in India. Three years ago, I initiated an NGO called ‘Mahilmathi Iyakkam’, to provide nutritious food free of cost to the underprivileged in Tamil Nadu.
I’d like to clarify that I harbor no intentions of starting my own political party. While it’s true that I have been approached by a political party to contest forthcoming elections, I am resolute in my decision to steer clear of sectarian affiliations. Details regarding my political affiliation will be disclosed after the elections. As the daughter of Puratchi Thamizhan, Thozhar Sathyaraj and a resident of Tamilnadu, my dedication lies in selflessly working towards the health and happiness of my state and my people.
Thank you,
Divya Sathyaraj Nutritionist
