The expectations are already spiking for his forthcoming movie ‘Kannai Nambathey’ scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on March 17, 2023. The actor shares his experience of shooting for this film.
Actor Udhayanidhi Stalin said, “The entire process of materializing Kannai Nambathey has been special and challenging as well. We have shot the entire film amidst lots of uncalled-for challenges. After watching Arulnithi’s ‘Iravukku Aayiram Kangal’, I had to meet and discuss some projects with director Mu. Maran. When he approached me, the first script to narrate to me was an emotional love story as he wanted to explore his potential in different genres. Since I was fascinated by his first movie, I requested that he makes a crime mystery thriller with minute-to-minute surprises and twists. When he narrated the story of Kannai Nambathey, I was impressed, and we immediately started shooting the film. However, there were some adverse conditions due to the COVID issues, and then my political involvement hampered the progression of production work. I am thankful to Mu Maran and the entire team for being patient and supportive. Everyone in the film has exerted their hard work. Major portions of this film had to be shot during the night times and mostly on the roadsides, which took some time. Finally, as a team, we are happy to see that the movie has been completed, and is gearing up for worldwide theatrical release on March 17. The technicians are the main pillars of this film as they have done a remarkable job of retaining the impact of mystery-thriller elements. Kannai Nambathey will keep the audiences on edge-of-the seats and offer unexpected twists and surprises.”
Udhayanidhi Stalin and Aathmika are playing the lead roles in this movie. Srikanth, Prasanna, Bhumika Chawla, Vasundhara Kashyap, Sathish, Marimuthu, Subiksha Krishnan, Pazha Karuppiah, Sendrayan, and Ku. Gnanasambandam is the other in the star cast.
VN. Ranjith Kumar of LIPI Cine Crafts is producing this film, and Mu Maran is writing and directing this mystery-thriller.
