*“Vikkals of Vikram” is my first and most personal stand-up show.* I’ve taken stories from my own life, growing up in a Tamil middle-class family, college, love, relationships, marriage and everything that came with them, and turned them into comedy.The show looks at some of the things we grow up believing about love, family, relationships and society, and what happens when we begin questioning them.I talk about subjects we’re usually very comfortable joking about privately, but slightly uncomfortable discussing openly.There are stories about family expectations, cinema, sex education, marriage, caste, feminism and the wonderfully complicated world we grow up in.But I’m not trying to preach or tell anyone what is right or wrong.I’m simply looking back at how I understood these things then, how I understand them now, and laughing at everything that happened in between.At its heart, “Vikkals of Vikram” is a funny, personal journey through the things that made me who I am today.
